Metocean Services International (MSI) is pleased to announce that it has become a corporate member of the Hydrographic Society of South Africa (HSSA).

Stefan Stimson (Back Row, 2nd from the right) with some of the other corporate members of the HSSA being presented with their membership certificates. The HSSA meets every month (usually on the last Tuesday) at the Royal Cape Yacht Club in Cape Town, where a guest speaker presents on a topic of interest. The HSSA provides the ideal forum to interact with the Hydrographic and Oceanographic community in South Africa and the corporate membership fee's ensures that the costs for holding the meetings are covered.

MSI has more involvement in the HSSA with Stefan Stimson being on the organising committee for the 2nd Technical Awareness Seminar (TAS '05). Following on from the success of the 2003 Technical Awareness Seminar (TAS), the aim of this 3 day event, scheduled for May 2005, is to present the latest technology in Oceanographic / Hydrographic / Survey equipment to a range of users. The event will comprise a number of lectures from major international equipment suppliers, as well as afternoon equipment demonstrations in the South African naval dockyard. As in 2003, TAS will again be hosted by the Institute for Maritime Technology in Cape Town.
