The XR-420 CT Marine is a small (290mm x 64mm OD) data logger designed to monitor conductivity and temperature in a marine environment. The logger is both autonomous and submersible, and can be used as a profiler (XR-620 option). Mooring clamps are optional (see accessories page).  With the external serial I/O connector it may be used for real time monitoring.

The XR-420 CTD Freshwater is a small, autonomous data logger designed to monitor conductivity, temperature and depth in the freshwater conductivity range. It can be used as a profiler (XR-620 option). Mooring clamps and cages are optional (see accessories page).

Features of the XR-420:

• XR-420 is a small, submersible, autonomous 24-bit data logger

• 1Hz (XR-420) maximum sampling rate

• capacity to support up to six sensors in the standard enclosure

• 11 or more sensors in custom configurations

• Sensors include, Conductivity, Temperature, Depth, pH/ORP, Dissolved Oxygen, Fluorescence, Turbidity, Transmittance, PAR, etc. in any combination

• C, T, D and DO are measured to WOCE standards

• All calibration constants are stored in the logger

• Re-calibration may be carried out by the end-user under suitable conditions

• The XR-series logger uses fully integrated Windows^® software, which is compatible with Windows^® 95/98/NT/2000/XP

• RS232 or RS485 serial communication allows real-time operation over long cable links using the RBR Windows^® support program

• Mooring clamps and cages are optional (see accessories page), and rugged transit cases are recommended

Features of the XR-620 (Profiler):

• The XR-620 is the profiling version of the standard XR-420 logger; it includes all of the above features, plus:

  • 6Hz maximum sampling rate

  • Thresholding capability (logger only samples while submerged)

Up to three modules for eight thermistors may be included

Any combination of thermistors may be made in any length up to a practical limit of about 500m

The thermistor string may be designed for:

• deployment under water  Depths up to 6,000m.
• underground
• in concrete
• in permafrost
• in ice.

We offer an extended operational temperature range for the thermistor strings (-40°C to +35°C).
